Here my cake is a six inch, and the disk is 6 1/4”. Use the straight spatula to attach the disk at the top edge of the cake all the way around and then even it out down the sides. Use a straight scraper all the way around to smooth it. To get a nice crisp edge at the top, freeze for about 10 minutes before using a paring knif
