Formulas based on IFS are shorter and easier to read and write. Conditions are provided to the IFS function as test/value pairs, and IFS can handle up to 127 conditions. Each test represents a logical test that returns TRUE or FALSE, and the value that follows will be returned when the test returns TRUE.

The syntax of the IFS Excel formula is: `IFS(logical_test1, value_if_true1, [logical_test2, value_if_true2] ... [logical_testN, value_if_trueN])`. The arguments are: logical_test1 (mandatory), value_if_true1 (mandatory), and optional additional pairs of logical tests and corresponding values.
