  1. The gamma function is a mathematical function that extends the concept of factorial to real and complex numbers. It is defined as:

    [ \Gamma(z) = \int_0^\infty t^{z-1} e^{-t} dt ]

    for ( \Re(z) > 0 ) and is extended to the rest of the complex plane by analytic continuation.

    Using scipy.special.gamma

    The scipy.special module provides a gamma function that can be used to compute the gamma function for real or complex numbers. Here is an example of how to use it:

    from scipy.special import gamma

    # Compute gamma function for an array of values
    values = [0, 0.5, 1, 5]
    result = gamma(values)
