Use tab stops to align page numbers for a clean, consistent look. Consider using leader lines (dots or dashes) that lead the eye from the chapter titles to the page numbers. Remember to update the table of contents if you make changes to the document that affect the page numbers or headings.

To align the text, click on ‘Modify’ in the ‘Table of Contents’ menu, then select the ‘TOC level’ that you want to align and click on ‘Modify’ again. You’ll see a new window where you can align the text to the left, center, or right, just like you would with regular text.
